Help

How to use the map, Ask BioMap, the tools and My BioMap, including touch gestures and keyboard shortcuts.

Getting started

  1. Open the map

Each glowing point is a topic. Colours show the kind of topic, and the key in the corner explains them.

  2. Choose a topic

Tap or click a topic to see what it is, how it connects and where the information comes from.

  3. Follow a connection

Select a connected topic in the panel and the map moves with you. Or take a guided tour and let the map move for you.

Ask BioMap

Ask in your own words, such as "What is insulin resistance?" or "How does stress affect digestion?". Ask BioMap recognises the kind of question and the topics in it, and answers from the map with its sources. It will not diagnose you, read your own results or recommend doses.

Saving and moving your data

Save topics, write notes and add questions for your GP from any topic page. They appear in My BioMap. Everything is kept in this browser on this device. To move it to another device, choose Download my data, then Import a file on the other device.

Install on your phone

AskBioMap works like an app. In your phone's browser, open the share or browser menu and choose Add to Home Screen or Install app. Pages you have opened before also work without a connection. The AskBioMap app for iPhone and Android will be available at the official launch.

If something is not working

  • Refresh the page. If the map still does not appear, check that JavaScript is turned on and that your browser is up to date.
  • If nothing is being saved, your browser may be in private mode or blocking site storage.
  • Still stuck? Tell us through the HuBu-Intel contact page, with your device and browser if you can.
