Automated features

Some parts of AskBioMap work automatically. This page explains what they do, what they use, and what they do not do. Version 2.0.6, effective 20 October 2026.

Ask BioMap

Ask BioMap answers questions with fixed rules. It recognises the kind of question, such as "what is" or "how does one thing affect another", finds the topics named in it, and builds an answer from the map and its sources. It does not use generative artificial intelligence.

It shows emergency and support numbers when a question mentions signs of an emergency or crisis. It declines to recommend doses, to diagnose, or to advise on changing medicines. It runs in your browser, uses only the words you type at that moment, and does not store or send them.

Paths between topics

When you trace a path, the map searches for the chain of connections with the fewest steps, giving preference to connections with stronger evidence. A path shows how topics relate in general biology, not what is happening in your body.

Tools

Each tool does arithmetic with a published method, shows its working, and names its source. The numbers you enter stay in your browser.

Ask a person

None of these features makes a decision about you, and none of them uses personal information that reaches us. None is intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor, predict, treat or alleviate any disease, injury or condition. You can ask a person about anything on AskBioMap through the HuBu-Intel contact page.
