About this tool

Most conversion factors come from the molar mass of the substance, so the working shows exactly how each number is reached. HbA1c uses the published equation that links the NGSP percentage with the IFCC unit, mmol/mol.

Converting units does not tell you whether a result is normal for you. Compare it with the range on your own report and ask your doctor what it means.

HbA1c source: NGSP, IFCC standardisation of HbA1c, read on 12 October 2026.
